Retracing the Steps of History’s Most Famous Voyages

Ever wanted to retrace the steps of Jack Kerouac’s adventure across America, David Livingstone’s travels through Africa, the 13th century voyages of Marco Polo or Captain Cook’s Endeavour Voyage as he attempted to determine the distance of the sun?

Or what about following in the (fictional) footsteps of Phileas Fogg as he attempted to circumnavigate the globe in Jules Verne’s classic story ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’?

The people at Good Magazine recently created an interactive map detailing some of history’s most famous and most epic journeys.

The map also contains some great train journeys, such as the Trans-Siberian Railroad and the Orient-Express – both of which are still widely traveled today.

Whatever kind of adventure you’re after, there’s plenty here to whet the appetite.

Have you attempted any of these famous journeys yourself? Let us know your experiences in the comments below!
