Revealed: The Best Hotels in the World

The people over at recently conducted a survey to find the best hotels in the world.

Expedia’s Insiders’ Select survey took into account more than 500,000 customer reviews given by their users.

The aim of the survey was to find the hotel that offered its customers the best service, amenities and overall value.

According to the survey, the best hotel in the world can be found in Bratislava, Slovakia.

This is particularly surprising considering that less than 600,000 tourists visited Bratislava in the whole of 2010.

Marrol's boutiqueMarrol’s Boutique (the hotel that ranked number one), has just 54 guest rooms/suites, is located right in the centre of Bratislava’s Old Town and has all of the amenities you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.

Of course, there are many great 5-star hotels that can off such luxury, but what makes Marrol’s Boutique so special is its price. Rooms at this 5-star establishment can be booked for around $125 a night (including breakfast), which is mighty cheap for a hotel of such quality.

According to Expedia’s 2012 Insiders’ Select list, here are the 10 best hotels in the world:

  9. Taj Lands End – Mumbai (India)
  10. Mr. C Beverly Hills – Los Angeles, California (USA)
