The Top 10 Surfing Destinations in the World
Ever dreamed of going surfing, but not been sure where to go?
This is the problem that many would-be surfers face, as surfing is limited to places where there are beaches and good waves.
The people over at Global Grasshopper have come up with a list of the top 10 surfing destinations in the world (based on how good they are for surfing and how scenic they are).
As they say:
“Surfing is the perfect antidote to the hassles of everyday life, which is why so many people travel the world chasing that perfect wave. Choosing the best surfing destination isn’t just about the waves (although they’re pretty important) to add to the experience you’re probably want to bag yourself some gorgeous surroundings too.”
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- The Maldives
- California, USA
- Perth, Australia
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Bali, Indonesia
- Cornwall, England
As well as the usual suspects (such as Hawaii and California), there are a few lesser known surfing spots listed. Bali (in Indonesia), for example, is a great place to surf as the sea is warm most of the year, and the crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches provide the perfect backdrop for surfing.
